Official Rules for the Dark Star Romance “New Year, New Hear” Giveaway 

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. A purchase does not improve your chances of winning. 

Eligibility 

• Entrants must be published authors.  

• The book to be produced into audio must be in English, fully proofed, edited and published no later than Dec 31st, 2024.  

• Books under contract with Dark Star Romance before Dec 9th, 2024 are not eligible. 

• The giveaway is open to individuals aged 18 or older at the time of entry. 

• Employees, affiliates, and immediate family members of Dark Star Romance and its associated organizations are not eligible to enter. 

Promotional Period 

• The giveaway runs from December 9, 2024 to December 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time). 

How to Enter 

• Online Entry: Visit www.darkstarromance.com and fill in the form to enter. Limit one entry per author. 

Personal Information 

• By entering, you agree to Dark Star Romance’s Privacy Policy.  

• Additionally, you acknowledge that you understand the purpose of this contest is to document the process of turning a book into audio. Dark Star Romance will use footage and correspondence to educate and illustrate the process via avenues such as social media, newsletters, website content, etc. By entering, you consent to having your audiobook production process publicly documented. This includes but is not limited to: 

• Recording of meetings; you can choose to appear voice-only for online meetings 

• Screenshots of relevant email content  

• Dark Star Romance will ensure that all personal, private information will remain protected. 

• You’ll have the opportunity to review all content prior to posting. 

Prize 

• One author will receive a fully produced professional audiobook created from their written book (maximum value: $5500). 

• The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for monetary value or another item. 

Winner Selection 

• The winner will be randomly selected after the promotional period ends. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries. 
• The winner selection is final and not subject to appeal.

• The winner will be announced live on TikTok (@darkstarromance) on January 1st, 4pm Eastern Time. 

General Terms 

• Dark Star Romance reserves the right to modify or cancel the giveaway if unforeseen circumstances arise. 

• Automated or multiple entries are prohibited and will result in disqualification. 

• By entering, participants agree to allow Dark Star Romance to use their names, photos, or other provided information for promotional purposes without additional compensation. 

• Audiobook production dates will be based upon narrator availability. 

Liability 

• Dark Star Romance and associated parties are not responsible for any issues arising from participation in the giveaway, including technical errors, disputes, or lost entries.
